These forms were made using only boolean addition and subtraction applied iteratively, in random alternation, from randomly repeated identical starting shapes. The resulting plays of light and shadow are dynamic compositions, as engaging as 2D collages as they are in 3D. The result is a projected collage. Going from 3D to 2D is a powerful workflow, where it allows one to quickly create complexity that would be difficult or arbitrary to create in 2D alone.
